The new “Haus Murges“ is very much influenced by modern architecture, witness the rectangular shape and the reduced design without any ornament.
Thereby, the building augments the surrounding buildings from the 1930s in terms of architectural contents, as it does in relation to the alignments, heights and materials used.
The continuous dark clinker base of varying height also marks the entrance area and the perforated facade of the small inner courtyard.
The ground of the forecourt and the inner open spaces are also made of clinker, so that the building with its base sort of rises from the ground.
Above the base we have the structure plastered in white, interestingly broken down by its “entangled” ashlars.
The interior is characterised by a reduction to only a few materials like large-scale facings of oak panels, oak floors, plaster and stone floors.
