The new building of a production and admin building for CD Design GmbH provides the industrial estate Dyckerfeld in Solingen with an example of attractive industrial architecture.
The complex is broken down into a smaller admin building and a production building aligned along the adjacent streets. By making use of the slope it was possible to “bury” the bulk of the production building’ s structure, which makes for very pleasant dimensions.
And there is extensive storage space even beneath the production sites.
The glazed admin building has a lamellar curtain and is separated from the production building by a sheet of concrete.
Daylight is fed into the large production building through light bands in the roof and the façades.
