Hülden’s new steel factory building in Düren will accommodate their sales department and serve as a tool shed. Very much in contrast to the frequently bland buildings in industrial estates, in this case a very attractive structure was erected by simple means.
On three sides the two-storey building is cased with clinker walls almost in their entirety, while being fully paned toward the entrance. The panes of glass have been “bent” round the corner, as it were, so that we here now have a glass structure that seems to protrude from the clinker casing.
The rhombus-like roof cassette made of steel beams protrudes over the entrance area as an intimation of a canopy and thus makes the roof’s construction visible from the outside and lends the building some dynamic.
The building’s interior is partially lit through fanlights and gives a bright and modern impression.
